Flat synthetic brush with an oval shape

Professional make-up artists call this brush the "cat's tongue". It can be used to apply creamy cosmetics and create the perfect complexion from base to blush (if not in powder form). The key here is short strokes - instead of smearing or rubbing foundation into the skin, you literally "beat it in" for the most natural and flawless effect possible. In the world of professional cosmetics, this method is sometimes referred to as "stamping".

Large brush made of natural hair

A large brush is needed to evenly apply powder to your face, a large brush is recommended. If your powder product comes with an inbuilt bauble or puff, you may well not need to use a brush. In the absence of such accessories, you can easily create a small "powder reservoir" by filling a lid (such as from your powder product) with a small amount of loose powder. Then, by applying a tool to the powder in the lid, you can evenly apply the product to your face by making sweeping circular motions. This approach is also suitable for powder in pressed form.

Medium-sized blush brush

The size of the brush you use has a direct impact on the final result of applying blush to your cheeks. To avoid visible borders and get a more harmonious make-up, it is recommended to choose brushes with soft, flowing shapes.

Oval shadow brush

If you use a natural brush, the pigment will be applied to the skin more smoothly and gradually. Such a tool is ideal for creating blotches and smooth transitions between colours. On the other hand, a brush with a nylon pile instantly applies colour to the eyelid that matches the shade on the shadow packaging or as declared by the manufacturer.

Flat lip brush

Choose a brush with a short, natural-looking pile and preferably a folding brush. This will allow you to always have it on hand. This tool is ideal for eyeliner, but remember the importance of regular cleaning after each use.
